The ID Agency Launches New Carbon Revolution Wheel Website

Carbon fiber wheel specialist announces new website for its lightweight CR-9 carbon fiber performance wheel

Performance through low weight is a mantra repeated throughout the automotive industry. And while manufacturers strive to save weight wherever possible to improve efficiency and dynamics, there is still one area largely unexplored: the arena of lightweight wheels.

While many carmakers and wheel specialists have explored lightweight alloys and production techniques, it is only with a material like carbon fiber that true savings can be found.

Leading the development and production of such wheels is Australian company Carbon Revolution – an organization that hopes to soon announce original equipment contracts with major carmakers.

The quality of its products is such that they are able to pass the rigorous testing procedures imposed by carmakers, and now anybody can benefit from that same technology with the Carbon Revolution CR-9 Wheel.

Production is currently aimed at high-performance vehicles such as the Audi R8, McLaren MP4-12C / 650S, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911 and BMW M3, although more applications are under continuous development.

The benefits of lightweight wheels are numerous and wide ranging, improving everything from acceleration to cornering precision, braking performance, suspension action and even fuel economy.

The many benefits, including some of the advanced engineering involved in the development of the Carbon Revolution CR-9 Wheel, can be discovered at a new microsite:

Additional material on the site includes video of comparison testing carried out at a Southern California racetrack using a Porsche 911 GT3. High-profile guests were invited to driver the car on both its stock wheels and then the Carbon Revolution CR-9 Wheel – it certainly makes interesting viewing.

The microsite outlines the advantages of lightweight wheel technology in depth, and also includes a gallery of high-performance cars fitted with the Carbon Revolution CR-9 Wheel.
